13 Must Haves Attributes to Become a Great Financial Leader

Companies are facing a major Leadership crisis. More than 10,000 baby boomers are retiring every day, and when talented senior Leaders head for the door, they take decades of valuable experience with them. A recent survey predicted a 30% drop in the number of appropriately aged managers available for leadership roles between 2009 and 2015. To make matters worse, professionals considered emerging Leaders account for only 8% to 10% of the current talent pool.

There is a shortage of Leaders, even in our current economic environment, who bring both specific technical expertise and strategic general business acumen to the table. Smart organizations are looking for and hiring it. Smart leadership candidates are acquiring and marketing it.

As the work force contracts, the scarcity of skilled labour will increase. Competition for employees with specialized skills, high performers and effective Leaders will ratchet up as the global war for talent escalates.
